The Hang project draws its name from its physical location upon the grounds of Austin’s Haile Airfield. But the essence of the project draws from something deeper - the adventurous spirit of early aviation pioneers who made Austin an unlikely hub of early-era American flight.
The project site is located in an established, vibrant Austin neighborhood called North Loop. It is within a parkland deficient zone and also part of a future bike trail system. Over one acre of the site was designed and dedicated as park land with wonderful amenities such as playgrounds, relocated heritage tree, and basketball/pickleball courts for the community. The project also provided over 500 bicycle parking spaces to anticipate the planned bike infrastructure along Koenig Road.
The building design carries a modern industrial motif, a styling that calls for expansive “warehouse” windows, allowing ample natural light flooding into each and every dwelling unit.
Live-work units are found along Koenig to take advantage the pedestrian and cyclist connection provided as part of the project. Additional unique amenities include a sky-deck with views of Downtown Austin, an over 2,000 sf state of the art wellness center, 2 resort style pools, co-working lounges, and a full-size bocce ball court.
This one of a kind project has the vision to give back to the community by utilizing “future-ready” infrastructure and urban planning strategies. We could not be more proud to be part of the mission.
