5th & West Condo Tower is a “soft-modern” building nuzzled amongst the vibrant 6th Street area. The building plan is a triangle to meet the Capitol View Corridor requirement. This imposed additional challenges to an already small city block. It is situated in Austin’s growing western downtown area, surrounded by shops, restaurants, civic services, and within two blocks of Shoal Creek. The 39-story high-rise’s sleek expansive glass facade provides an elegant/sleek addition to the skyline and magnificent views of Downtown Austin.
A co-work amenity / lobby is located at the base of tower, overlooking & activating Fifth Street. Minimalist European cabinets and upscale appliances are installed through the units, as well as wood flooring throughout. An oval shape resort style pool sits over the garage/under the CVC, overlooking the busy Austin urban fabric. Partnered with the Offices of Michael Hsu on common space interiors.
Due to the size of the site, a nine-level garage was provided with 5 levels below grade. Semi-custom units can be found at the upper levels.
The 459’ tower was completed in December 2018.
